Travelers looking for a hostel that is a little out of the ordinary in Amsterdam should consider the Vita Nova. The hostel is located near all the attractions of the city including Centrall Station and the Van Gough Museum. Most downtown attractions and sites are no more than a seven minute walk from this hostel.
What makes the Vita Nova hostel one of the more unique Amsterdam hostels is that it is actually a boat. Moored on one of the several waterways in the city the Vita Nova offers a complimentary Dutch breakfast every morning and free WiFi internet for its guests. Each cabin comes with bunk beds and a wash basin. Showers and toilet facilities are shared with the other guests on the floating hostel. There is linen and towels provided with each cabin also. The cabins are secured so guests staying more than one night are able to lock their belongings in a secure place while touring the central city and its environs.
Because the hostel does not operate a full time reception desk checking into a cabin must be done between the hours of 12 noon tol2 pm and 5 pm to 10 pm. The hostel boat offers a non smoking facility for the comfort of all guests. There is no curfew so guests are permitted to come and go s they please once they have registered and been assigned a cabin.
At this time the Vita Nova Hostel boat accepts only cash for payments. Guests reserving a room an paying a deposit should note that all deposits are non-refundable.
